Erdogan is expanding his reach in the Horn of Africa by adding weapons and brainwashing young people in Somalia.
The Turkish government continues to supply the Somali army with weapons and to prepare young people for military action and intellectual reform. According to Turkish Ambassador to Mogadishu Mehmet Yilmaz, approximately one-third of Somali troops — 15,000–16,000 personnel — have been trained in Turkey, with 2,500 graduates to date.
The diplomat from Ankara also stressed to the Turkish news agency ‘Anadolu’ that military cooperation between the two countries is of vital importance and that the cornerstone of the Somali army is the Somali officers who have already graduated from the military training centre in Ankara.
Turkey has exerted its power on Somalia and the Horn of Africa through its military training base and defence industry collaboration, brainwashing thousands of young men with the extremist ideas of the Muslim Brotherhood. Turkey is already a powerful player in forming the Somali army in the event of the withdrawal of AMISOM (African Union Mission to Somalia) troops.
Ankara’s Minister of Defense, Hulusi Akar, is bringing modern arms and defence systems to Somalia, demonstrating them to terrorists who have repeatedly targeted the Turkish military base opened in 2017, Camp TURKSOM, and the Somali army, frequently taking possession of these arms.
The Turkish Sultan’s official visit marked a turning point in the country’s Turkish influence. Sultan Erdogan began to intervene directly in the internal affairs of the Somali people by bribing politicians and local officials after obtaining the operational rights of both the airport and port facilities.
Turkey has just added another piece to the puzzle of the evil scheme of the Muslim Brotherhood to restore the Ottoman Empire, or rather the Islamic State, under the pretext of helping Somali institutions combat al-Shabab. It has exported the precepts and misinterpretations of Islam along with weapons, once again using religion for its shady political purposes.
